Description: You are invited to take a stroll through rolling oak savanna and open prairie area on 3+ acres in the Pine Ridge subdivision in Bull Valley. Linda and Terry began restoring natives to the landscape in 1991 by adding plant diversity to their property hoping to transform it into a welcoming haven for insects, birds, animals and humans. They credit the influence of Perle Olsson and the late Margaret Marchi, Bill Wingate and Dick York for their inspiration. The savanna area has red, white, and bur oaks, shagbark hickories and over 30 species of woodland plants. Besides the savanna and prairie areas, Linda has started a couple of Permaculture guilds using native shrubs and trees to provide a regenerative food supply on the property. Guided walks will be offered at 1pm and 3:30pm.
Take a sneak peek or a four season virtual tour on the website Linda has created to showcase the plants and animals present in the yard.
